Winona County Republicans

Rep. Draz and Lt. Gov. Cand. Meeks town hall in St. Charles

On Thursday, July 15th, all interested citizens in southeastern Minnesota are invited to participate in a town-hall style listening session in the Community Room at the St. Charles City Hall building, beginning at 7:00 pm.

This listening session in St. Charles is part of the Emmer for Governor Freedom and Prosperity Tour.  The meeting will focus on improving the environment for jobs and the economy in our state and will feature the Republican-endorsed candidate for Lieutenant Governor, Annette Meeks.  Meeks will be joined by Representative Steve Drazkowski, as they listen to the experiences, concerns, and ideas that residents of St. Charles, Rochester, Winona, and other area communities have about future government policy affecting our economic future.

In her role leading the Emmer for Governor Freedom and Prosperity Tour, Annette Meeks has been instrumental in ensuring state government works for the people, and not the other way around.  “Only by listening first can government work the way it’s supposed to,” commented Meeks.

A benefit from the Emmer-Meeks team conducting these listening sessions throughout the state is learning directly from manufacturers and employers of all stripes about what they view as critical to get our economy moving again.  Both the loss of North Star Foods in St. Charles and Herf Jones in Lewiston offer a starting point in providing area residents an opportunity to share their concerns and suggestions with Meeks.

The Community Room is at 830 Whitewater Avenue in St. Charles. The public is invited and encouraged to participate in this listening session.
